Soleo 6038 Wide-Flat Architectural Hybrid WPC Aluminum Batten (5 3/4″ x 7/8″)

The Geolam Soleo 6038 is a wide-flat architectural hybrid batten measuring 5 3/4″ x 7/8″, combining an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5 Series 6000) with a wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin through Geolam’s exclusive co-extrusion process. At 5 3/4″ wide with only a 7/8″ depth, the Soleo 6038 is the widest flat profile in the Soleo range, designed for high-density decorative screen systems and louvered façade applications where a broad wood-grain surface, minimal projection from the facade plane, and a light, near-flush visual character are the design intent. At 1.34 lb/ft it carries efficiently on subframes despite its wide face, with a length-axis secondary moment of 97.77 cm⁴ (the highest Iy value in the Soleo family). Non-combustible per ASTM E-136, with a 1,600 lineal ft minimum for all colors and custom lengths up to 19 ft 8 in. End caps and connectors are not available; specify required lengths at time of order.

Key Benefits

Authentic Wood Appearance The Soleo 6038’s 5 3/4″ face with only a 7/8″ depth produces a broad, ribbon-like sanded wood-grain surface across high-density screen systems and louvered façade cladding runs, delivering maximum wood-grain coverage per linear foot with minimal shadow depth and a light, near-flush visual texture that reads as continuous warm timber across the facade plane.
Non-Combustible Certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), qualifying the Soleo 6038 for fire-regulated commercial, high-rise, and institutional facade and screen applications despite its slim 7/8″ profile depth.
Zero Maintenance The Soleo 6038 resists UV fading, moisture ingress, and weathering across its full service life without staining, sealing, or painting at any point.
Performance With a secondary moment of 97.77 cm⁴ along the length axis, the highest Iy value in the Soleo range, the Soleo 6038 delivers strong span performance relative to its 7/8″ depth at 1.34 lb/ft, with a thermal expansion coefficient of 23.4 μm/m/°C for consistent dimensional stability across wide-face aluminum batten cladding screen systems.
Custom Lengths Available from 7 ft to 19 ft 8 in (2.15 m to 6 m). End caps and connectors are not available for this profile; specify required lengths at time of order to minimize on-site cuts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Soleo 6038 made of? The Soleo 6038 is co-extruded with an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5, Series 6000) and a wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin, producing a wide-flat 5 3/4" x 7/8" slat profile with a sanded wood-grain surface.
Is it fire-rated? Yes. The Soleo 6038 is certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), qualifying it for fire-regulated commercial, high-rise, and institutional projects despite its slim 7/8" depth.
What is the minimum order? The minimum order is 1,600 lineal ft for all standard colors (Teak, Moleskin, Rosewood, and Ebony). Non-standard colors Carbon and Bilinga require 5,000 lineal ft with a 90-day lead time. Custom colors require 6,000 lineal ft.
Are end caps or connectors available? Neither end caps nor connectors are available for the Soleo 6038. Specify required lengths at time of order to minimize on-site cuts. Contact Geolam for installation guidance specific to this profile.
How does the 6038 differ from the Soleo 6024? Both share the same 5 3/4" (145 mm) face width, but the 6024 is deeper at 1 1/4" (30 mm) vs 7/8" (22 mm) on the 6038. The additional depth on the 6024 produces a more defined shadow line and a higher secondary moment, making it the stronger choice for louvered screen applications. The 6038 is the better option when a near-flush, high-density wide-face slat appearance is the design intent.
