Planeo 4046 Wide Large-Scale Hybrid WPC Aluminum Fin (13 3/4″ x 4 1/4″)
The Geolam Planeo 4046 is the largest profile in the Planeo range, measuring 13 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ and produced by internally bolting Geolam hybrid profiles together to form a single wide, deep architectural board with an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5 Series 6000) and sanded wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin. Its exceptional secondary moment of 4,159.94 cm⁴ along the length axis makes it the highest-performing Planeo profile for large-span decorative fins, statement brise-soleil systems, and bold exterior façade applications. The wide 13 3/4″ face delivers the authentic grain and warmth of stained hardwood at an architectural scale, with zero maintenance required across its full service life. Available in custom lengths only with ASTM E-136 non-combustible certification.

Key Benefits
| Authentic Wood Appearance | At 13 3/4″ wide, the Planeo 4046 delivers the most expansive wood-grain face in the Planeo range, creating a bold, plank-like aesthetic that reads clearly at a distance across large-scale façades and statement fin applications. |
| Non-Combustible | Certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), making the Planeo 4046 suitable for fire-regulated commercial, high-rise, and institutional projects. |
| Zero Maintenance | The Planeo 4046 never requires staining, sealing, or painting. It resists UV fading, moisture, and weathering without any periodic treatment throughout its full service life. |
| Performance | The internally bolted aluminum alloy core delivers a secondary moment of 4,159.94 cm⁴ along the board’s length axis, the highest in the Planeo range, with a thermal expansion coefficient of 23.4 μm/m/°C for predictable, long-term dimensional stability. |
| Custom Lengths | Available in custom lengths only, allowing projects to specify exact dimensions and eliminate on-site cutting waste. Contact Geolam for available length options for your project. |

Installation Overview
| Fastening options | InPull nut (M6–M12), blind nut, self-tapping screw, flange bolt, or plug system |
| Cutting (important note) | The Planeo 4046 is assembled from multiple internally bolted hybrid profiles. Boards may only be field-cut within the 2″ section at each end that extends past the end bolts. Do not cut anywhere else along the length as this may compromise the board’s integrity. Use a fine-tooth saw for all cuts. |
| Expansion gaps | Pre-drilled holes 2–4 mm wider than bolt shaft. Washers required. 0.92 mm/m expansion per 40°C difference. |
| End caps | Glue WPC or ASA end caps with Sikaflex Crystal Clear or 3M DP-8010. Keep four weep holes unblocked. Minimum order: 100 pieces. |
| Connectors | Straight connector (20 cm) for straight runs. Corner connectors for 90° joins with a nearly invisible joint. Minimum order: 100 pieces. |

Frequently Asked Questions
| What is the Planeo 4046 made of? | The Planeo 4046 is assembled from multiple Geolam hybrid profiles (typically Soleo) that are bolted internally to form a single large board, with an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5, Series 6000) and a sanded wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin. |
| Is it fire-rated? | Yes. The Planeo 4046 is certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), meeting fire safety requirements for commercial, multi-family, and institutional projects. |
| Can it be cut on site? | Only partially. The Planeo 4046 may be shortened by cutting within the 2" section at each end that extends past the internal bolts. Do not cut anywhere else along the board's length as this may compromise its integrity. Please specify your required length when ordering. |
| What finishes are available? | Four standard colors with a 1,600 lineal ft minimum: Teak, Moleskin, Rosewood, and Ebony. Non-standard colors Carbon and Bilinga require a 5,000 lineal ft minimum and 90-day lead time. Custom colors are available at 6,000 lineal ft minimum. |
| Can it be used indoors? | Yes. The Planeo 4046's wide 13 3/4" profile is well suited to interior lobby feature walls, large-scale decorative fins, and statement ceiling elements where a bold, plank-scale wood aesthetic is required. |
