Soleo 6009 Wide Architectural Hybrid WPC Aluminum Batten (4″ x 1 1/4″)

The Geolam Soleo 6009 is a wide architectural hybrid batten measuring 4″ x 1 1/4″, combining an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5 Series 6000) with a wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin through Geolam’s exclusive co-extrusion process. Its 4″ face with a moderate 1 1/4″ depth delivers a wide, plank-style wood-grain batten that casts a clear horizontal shadow line across louvered facade screen systems and brise-soleil accents, balancing visual width with enough depth to give the profile a well-defined three-dimensional presence. End caps are available. Minimum order is 1,000 lineal ft for all colors, with custom lengths up to 19 ft 8 in and non-combustible certification per ASTM E-136.

Key Benefits

Authentic Wood Appearance The Soleo 6009’s 4″ face combined with a 1 1/4″ depth creates a wide, plank-style rectangular batten that delivers a broad sanded wood-grain surface and a defined shadow line between battens across louvered facade screen systems, producing a strong horizontal rhythm at a scale that reads clearly both close-up and across an entire facade elevation.
Non-Combustible Certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), qualifying the Soleo 6009 for fire-regulated commercial, high-rise, and institutional facade and screen applications.
Zero Maintenance The Soleo 6009 resists UV fading, moisture ingress, and weathering across its full service life without staining, sealing, or painting at any point.
Performance The aluminum alloy core delivers a secondary moment of 38.74 cm⁴ along the length axis at 0.94 lb/ft, with a thermal expansion coefficient of 23.4 μm/m/°C for consistent dimensional stability across wide-face louvered screen and batten cladding systems.
Custom Lengths Available from 7 ft to 19 ft 8 in (2.15 m to 6 m), with end caps available to finish exposed batten ends cleanly on screen and facade runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Soleo 6009 made of? The Soleo 6009 is co-extruded with an anodized aluminum alloy core (A6063S-T5, Series 6000) and a wood/polypropylene composite (WPC) outer skin, producing a wide 4" x 1 1/4" batten profile with a sanded wood-grain surface.
Is it fire-rated? Yes. The Soleo 6009 is certified non-combustible per ASTM E-136 (appendix), qualifying it for fire-regulated commercial, high-rise, and institutional projects.
What is the minimum order? The minimum order is 1,000 lineal ft for all standard colors (Teak, Moleskin, Rosewood, and Ebony). Non-standard colors Carbon and Bilinga require 5,000 lineal ft with a 90-day lead time. Custom colors require 6,000 lineal ft.
Are connectors available? Connectors are not available for the Soleo 6009. End caps (WPC or ASA) are available with a minimum order of 100 pieces. Specify your required lengths at time of order.
How does the 6009 differ from the Soleo 6036? Both share the same 4" (100 mm) face width, but the 6009 is deeper at 1 1/4" (30 mm) vs 5/8" (15 mm) on the 6036. The extra depth gives the 6009 a more defined shadow line and a higher secondary moment (38.74 vs 26.05 cm⁴), making it better suited to louvered screens and brise-soleil applications where depth and shadow line definition matter. The 6036 is better for high-density near-flush slat applications. End caps are available on both.
